About

I am a Qualified Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, BACP and the National Council of Integrative Psychotherapists, NCIP, working within the Ethical Framework for Counselling Professions, ensuring that you have peace of mind and that you receive the best therapy service, suited to you, in a safe, confidential, professional and supportive setting.
I am an approved and qualified CPCAB (Counselling & Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body) Tutor, the UK's leading awarding organisation in the counselling and psychotherapy sector, which gives me an opportunity to teach and mentor new Counselling and Psychotherapy students, embarking on a new career path in counselling and mental health therapies.
I teach at a local adult community service, the Holistic Healing College and the College of Contemporary Therapy.

MY PREFERRED WORKING METHODS WITH CLIENTS

I combine or integrate the person-centred with the psychodynamic, the more conventional, approaches with Counselling Therapy which means that I support you in making sense of what is going on for you, and how your childhood experiences impact the way you think, behave, and feel now.
You will gain understanding to help move onwards with more clarity, focus and insights into your day-to-day relationships with yourself and others.

HOW DO I BOOK AN APPOINTMENT?

I welcome clients into my practice,  face-to-face, and online.
We will discuss your needs and what I can offer in the first session.
The best way to get in touch is to email me at shirley.amatsakio@proton.me or  text me at 077 36 32 92 77 when I can call you back.

ON A PERSONAL NOTE

I was raised with the view and believe that we humans exist of body, mind, and soul or spirit; they are interconnected. Therefore, I may if needed and wanted add ways to support you using valuable body-based, and body-mind therapy tools like Qigong and Mindfulness exercises.

Most of us are familiar with 'Mindfulness' which is one aspect of Meditation.
Mindfulness and breathing exercises help develop awareness of how our bodies feel and what is going on around us. Meditation helps calm the mind.

Qigong London

Not everyone is familiar with 'Qigong', pronounce "chee gong".

Qigong is an ancient Chinese Martial Arts practice combining breathwork with mindful movements.
I am a qualified Qigong Coach and regularly hold classes in North London.

I have studied at the London School of Qigong and the Holistic Healing College and have practised Tai Chi and Qigong for nearly thirty years now.

Using focused exercises helps balance whatever goes on in your body, mind, and spirit, allowing improved mental health and well-being.

When we choose to work together, you will become more aware of yourself and how you connect with other people around you, so you understand the reasons why you are finding these times challenging. With heightened awareness, you can make the choice to change.
